A stretch of State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway will be closing tonight for urgent repairs to flexible median barrier.

The road will be closed between the Pākōwhai/Links Road roundabout and the Evenden Road roundabout from 8pm to 5am. The road will reopen 5am, Saturday 29 November.

The repairs are needed after the barrier was extensively damaged following a crash last night, been Ngaruroro River Bridge and Evenden Road.

Northbound traffic will be detoured onto Evenden Road and left onto Pākōwhai Road. The reverse will apply for southbound traffic.

Emergency services will always be assisted through the site if required.  

Expect to add 5 minutes to your journey time. Please expect delays and plan trips accordingly.
