Three nights of road closures are planned for State Highway 58 maintenance works later this month and early September.

The highway will be closed on the nights of 31 August to 2 September (Monday to Wednesday) between 9 pm and 4:30 am.

Different closures will be implemented as the work progresses. On Monday night (31 August), the highway will be closed between Joseph Banks Drive and James Cook Drive.

On Tuesday and Wednesday nights (1 and 2 September), the closure will be between James Cook Drive and Postgate Drive.

Local road detours will be available (see maps below) but will require extra travel time.

Road crews will be clearing debris from drains, repairing recent minor slip damage, and clearing channels. This will help manage water flow during heavy rain and better protect the route from water damage.

Contractors will also be replacing and fixing damaged road signs, as well as other general maintenance work.

Night closures are being used because they are the most efficient and lowest-impact way to complete the work.

Residents and emergency services will have access through the closure points at all times.

As work schedules can change because of weather or other unforeseen circumstances, drivers are encouraged to check road conditions before travelling.
