Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Three weeks of night closures are coming for the Churton Park/Glenside on-ramp on State Highway 1 starting this Sunday.
- Daytime closures remain ongoing next week for eastbound traffic at State Highway 53/Revans Street between Daniell Street and the State Highway 2 intersection. This is for KiwiRail maintenance work on the rail corridor.
- State Highway 2 will be closed in Greytown between Kuratawhiti Street and Hastwell Street on Saturday between 2 pm and 9 pm. This is for a Wairarapa Festival of Christmas event. Local road detours will be available, but will require extra travel time.
Top of the South Island
- More bad weather is forecast for the top of the South Island on Tuesday. With the region’s highways affected by recent heavy rain, drivers are encouraged to check road and weather conditions before they travel. Further updates will be provided if Metservice issues official weather warnings.
- Slip repairs continue on State Highway 6 at Dellows Bluff and at the Howard Narrows on State Highway 63. Tree removal works will be underway on State Highway 6 at Spooners Saddle
The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the greater Wellington region and the top of the South Island over the coming week.
