Lower North Island/Upper South Island - Planned state highway roadworks

Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island:
- Road rebuild and safety barrier works are ongoing on State Highway 2 Totara Park in Upper Hutt, there will be a planned maintenance night closure of the Remutaka Hill this Sunday night, a maintenance night closure is also planned for State Highway 58, Whitby later this month and one further night closure is needed this Sunday to finish road rebuild work on State Highway 2 in Masterton.
- There will be a road closure on State Highway 2 between Masterton and Carterton for safety barrier repairs on Tuesday night between 9 pm and 4 am. State Highway 2 will be closed between the Hughes Line and Cornwall Road/Norfolk Road roundabouts. A local road detour will be available but will require extra travel time.
Top of the South Island:
- Drainage works on State Highway 1 Weld Pass have been extended into next week, changes are planned for the roading network in Picton, and speed limits will change on State Highway 6 between Blenheim and Nelson next week.
